The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

When : May 1st 2005
Title : The Htchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Starring : No one you know... Alan Rickman and Steven Fry (voices)
Plot: Arthur Dent is having a bad day.... but ends up questioning Life, the university and everything.
Review : Not much you can say to be honest the whole thing is a mismash of zig zagging plot lines. Classic comedy on every level you can imagine, and several you can't from the stuff everyone got like the skydiving whale to the obscure towel references. some people walked out within 10 minutes, some people laughed their socks off. As far as "was it true to the book, radio, tv versions?", who the hell cares... So long and thanks for all the fish...
Rating: A+ or an F. you will love it or hate it.

The Interpreter

When : April 20th 2005
Title : The Interpretor
Starring : Nicole Kidman, Sean Penn
Plot: UN interpretor (Kidman) overhears plot to assassinate president of an African nation. FBI agent (Penn) is assigned to run security for the presidents appearance at the UN.
Review : A really good film, well acted, great plot with many twists and turns that keeps you intersted throughout. UN backdrop adds realism to the film, this film was a great advertisement for the organization which would be my one minor gripe. Penn's politics are well known, and while I don't necessarily disagree with him, I think it s a little suspicious that with the UN ailing a little right now in the eyes of Americans, that it is shown in such a glowing light, smacks a little of a commercial. But don't let that put you off, the film is excellent and I only thought about it in the parking lot after.
Rating: B, Go se it, you will not be disapointed.
