Plot: exorcist John Constantine (Reeves) beats up on demons trying to take over the world.
Review : The plot moves fast and is difficult to follow unless you are paying a lot of attention. Special effects and acting is very good, but aside from a couple of "Shocks" it is not particularly scary or gory. Subject matter is probably a little controversial with a lot of religious undertone that is not really very flattering (not a problem for me of course but I would understand some of those more religious types getting offended). Reeves character reminded me of his Neo role towards the end of Matrix the kind of cool headed calm in the face of fire, been there seen that attitude. The role of the devil, played by Peter Stormare is fantastically well done. my favorite part of the film. Weisz is distinctly average, as she was in the Mummy but the rest of the supporting cast though are pretty darn good.
Rating: C+, I would recommend seeing it if you have nothing better to do but I wouldn't cancel other plans to go see it. It will probably be better on DVD when you can rewind and re-watch the bits you didn't understand.
